By nominating a woman for Woman of the Year you are letting her know how important she is to you and the impact she makes in the lives of others. Although there will only be one final Madison Woman of the Year winner, we will be able to personally recognize the many extraordinary women that we all know and love – our sisters, mothers, friends, neighbors, teachers, caregivers, and the list goes on and on. By sending along the nomination to your nominee and others, the positive message of the Woman of the Year program will have a tremendous reach into our local communities. In spreading this positive message our hope is that we will continue to appreciate and honor the special women in our lives each and every day and be thankful for the wonderful roles they play in our lives.

The Process

Simply nominate someone that you feel deserves to be the Madison Woman of the Year. Tell us a little about your choice and why you are nominating them for this award. By providing their email address we will notify each woman of her nomination and who nominated them.

During the nomination process, which lasts until March 10, 2008, you are also encouraged to vote for your nominee and others that you feel are worthy to be the Woman of the Year. The nominees will be judged to determine 10 finalists. Voting for the final winner will then run from March 17, 2008 – March 31, 2008. The woman that receives the most votes during this Second Round Voting Period will be crowned the Madison Woman of the Year, have a donation made to their charity of choice and receive a $5,000 Macy's Shopping Spree.

We would like to encourage you to invite your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, etc to visit this site and nominate someone for Woman of the Year. There is a simple "Tell a Friend" form on most pages that you can enter email addresses for us to send a message to those you would like to visit this site. Besides nominating someone, they can read other submissions, vote, and check out other great content on the site. The more people we can bring to the site, the greater the positive message we can spread.
